Vic Gordon has pastored, preached and taught the Word of God for over 40 years. The theme of his ministry has long been “speaking the truth in love” (Eph 4:15). He has been blessed with excellent training (A.B., Stanford University; M.Div., Fuller Theological Seminary; Ph.D. at Fuller in New Testament Theology under Dr. George Ladd; further study at numerous schools; mentored by John Stott) and has continued this training as a life-long learner.
Vic has served as the Campus Pastor and Professor of Bible and Theology at both Sioux Falls College (now the University of Sioux Falls) and Wheaton College and as the Senior Pastor of three churches (Kansas, California, and Ohio). A highlight of his calling has been the privilege to serve in Haiti for the last 25 years as a theologian for the Church. In all of his pastorates he has emphasized the role as a theologian in residence for his congregation.
Sensing a calling from the Lord to a more at-large and specialized ministry of being “a theologian for the Church”, Vic is currently president and lead theologian of a new venture called “Gospel Depth” — a non-profit ministry to promote biblical theology for building and renewing the church. Through teaching, preaching, mentoring, consulting and writing, Vic works to help congregations, organizations, pastors, leaders and lay ministers to strengthen their Biblical theology for the cause of building and renewing Christʼs Church.
God has given Vic the gracious gift of family in which he finds special joy. He and Sue have been married 41 years, and he delights in his four children (fireman/businessman, investment banker, pastor and teacher, each of whom is walking with the Lord) and their families. He loves to read, travel and remains an active handball player.
