The purpose of Gospel Depth can be broadly grasped in the tag line “biblical theology for the building and renewing of Christʼs Church”. The focus of Gospel Depthʼs ministry is the deepening of the biblical, theological thinking of the churches to both build (edify) healthy churches and to renew sick or struggling or straying churches. The concern is with deepening theology (always biblical if it is true Christian theology), to produce deeper Christians and churches in this superficial, shallow day and culture. We agree with Richard Foster in the first sentences of his influential book The Celebration of Discipline:!
“Superficiality is the curse of our age …. The desperate need today
is not for a greater number of intelligent people, or gifted people, but for deep people.”
Gospel Depth seeks to address this situation. Gospel Depth desires to bring serious theological reflection and teaching to the churches, helping them to understand, discern, articulate, teach and live the unique and personal Word God has specifically for them.
